How can we fight misogyny?

As our capstone project, my partner and I began discussing how we could fight misogyny in the workplace and how we could help women understand it better and give them the tools to help them.

Research

From all of this data, we began building our insights and growing our understanding of what we could create to affect this issue.

We pulled insights from all of these different sources, building a picture of what we were combatting and who was experiencing what and where.

We began by gathering data, reading articles, and talking to women, authors, professors, and HR professionals. We wanted to know what would truly be helpful and what areas we should focus on.

From our 234 survey respondents and our 12 interviews, we found the question we wanted to focus on:

How might we guide women and their allies to feminism by helping them understand the role misogyny plays in their daily lives and how they might face it?

We used all of this context to help us build out our personas. We thought about different generations of women and how they may benefit from this app as well as their male colleagues.

That is how we came up with Saffia.

It’s an AI-driven platform created by women for women to help them combat misogyny by giving them access to real women’s stories as well as research, legal resources, and educational content.
